I saw on this site that it is claimed that William Roark of 1757 was born in Ireland and perhaps became an orphan. This is COMPLETELY FALSE, he was born in Orange, North Carolina and there are birth certificates to prove it. His parents Timothy and Sarah were NOT born in IRELAND. The earliest Irish ancestor known in this line is Bryan Roark who was born in Ireland in 1690. My great grandmother was Charity Roark 1901-1954 who married James C Reed. Charity is often not listed in cenus books but there is only ONE record that holds her to this family line. She was the daughter of Michael Roark and Mary Young, his second wife.
