2008 Class Reunion

Our HHS Class of '53 reunion, held annually with this one marking our 55th year, has come and gone again. The event was held at Pin Oak Lodge in Natchez Trace State Park on April 11th and 12th, 2008.

Total attendance for each of the two nights was as follows:

	Friday night   (04/11):  10 Total:  6 Classmates (plus 2 spouses and 1 friend)

	Saturday night (04/12): 30 Total: 18 Classmates (plus 11 spouses and 1 friend)
It was good to have Nancy (Hilliard) Fullerton and Anne Clement back with us along with our two (2) guests, Ann Wallace and a grandson of Charles Wooter. His grandson's name is also Charles A. Wooters.

We sure missed those of you who were not there with us.

For those arriving on Saturday, we began gathering in the hospitality room in the morning from about 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM. We were allowed to use the Natchez Room, across from the restaurant for our hospitality room.

A change in the time for our meal together was this: We had voted the year before to have our meal at noon in lieu of having it in the evening as it had been - up until this year. Now the Natchez Room also served as our dining room for our luncheon.

After the meal, the business portion of our reunion began - with our president, Butch Reams, moderating.

Items of business were as follows:
  • We voted to return to Natchez Trace State Park (Pin Oak Lodge) for next year's reunion.
  • The date for next year's reunion was set for April 17th and 18th, 2009.
  • Our class meal will remain as a noontime meal (12:00 o'clock).
  • We took up donations for the "flower fund".
  • We voted that flowers for funerals, and other occasions for which they are normally sent, will only be sent for those classmates (or for their spouses) who support our reunions.
  • Larry read a "Note of Appreciation" from Colette Jarrett, widow of our beloved classmate, the late Billy Bonds Jarrett.

After the business meeting adjourned, we continued with our fellowship and "renewing of auld acquaintances" until approximately 2:30 PM, after which we resumed our travels down the roads we selected.

We ALL hope to be back next year and invite any classmate who could not attend to please make your plans now to be there with us.
