Nancy, it's so great to hear that you are well and safe. We've been watching the news from Nashville and all other affected areas as well. Yes you, as well as most of us in this area, are very fortunate. This was all like a nightmare more than reality. People in Nashville and our area really "came together" on this, as always. The rescue operations were manned by those who were relentless in their efforts to help others. It sure was great to see you and the others at our reunion. Thanks for your letting us know and continue to "take care". The best to you and your.

I am well and safe. I only had 6 inches of water in my basement that I was able to sweep out yesterday. Today I am using bleach and collected rain water to scrub the basement to prevent mold. I am much more fortunate than so very many of my neighbors. We are on manditory water restrictions because one of our filtration plants is under water and the other is threatened by the rising waters of the Cumberland River. The Governor announced late this afternoon that the interstates are all open. At one point the only way into and out of town was I-65 north. Governor Bredesen has asked the President to declare the parts of the state affected by the rain as Federal Disaster Areas to give us some assistance. There have been over 100 water rescues in Nashville in the last 2 days. Nancy

Larry Williams, Harvey Turner, Earl Jarrett, Roy Smith, Charles Wooters and I had lunch today. After eating, we called Butch Reams. Butch told us that he has cancer in his side and in his shoulder. He assured us that the cancer is the kind that is considered the milder form. He is taking radiation every 4th week and has to have his blood checked every Friday. He has also recently wrecked his truck. He was not severely hurt but it did bang up his knee and ... I believe he said his shoulder. Both of these are almost well. He said that he dozed off and ran into a tree. He said that the treatment for the cancer seems to make him drowsy a lot and believes this is why he doozed off since he'd never done that before. I know he covets our prayers. He feels that, at the present time, that he will not be able to make it to the reunion this year. I hope he does make it down and that we see everyone else at the reunion also.

Hi Mavis, It's good to hear from you. Actually is is great to hear from anyone. No one even answers email anymore. lol  Anyway, Joyce and Gene are in my prayers along with all other classmates. Yes! I'm with you ... way to go Harvey. The HONOR couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Yayyy! for April. The flowers will be in bloom and the dogwoods at NT and everyone will come with warm hearts and a smile on their face. See you then and thanks for posting, Mavis. Gooo Mavisssss!

Hi, I am SO looking forward to seeing everyone in April. Hope that everyone is well. Joyce and Gene have had a really hard time this winter and are still not well. Good health is truly a gift from God and I am more and more aware at that fact every day. Congratulations Harvey! I can't think of anyone who deserves that high honor more than you. I am honored to have known you both back when and now too. Thanks Donald for "fixing" the message site.I had no luck with the last one. But your superior tech skills have fixed the problem, I hope.
