- Laura Lee Barnes (Woodul) ... Information needed ...
- Mavis Barnes (Johnson) (Husband: Bob - deceased) Since we gathered ten years ago there have been many changes. Bob suffered a stroke in October 1983. I was told he would never talk or walk again. I refused to believe the doctor's opinion. I knew Bob's spirit too well. He is doing well and is what the medical people call a "miracle". With enough prayer and faith, miracles still happen. I left the library in July 1985 and became the principal of Lincoln School. After consolidation this past year, Lincoln became a magnet school for mathematics and science for grades K-5. I have a faculty of twenty-eight and a support staff of ten and five hundred plus students. I have earned Career Ladder 111 status as an administrator. A fifth grade teacher at Lincoln and I take thirty-five children on educational tours each summer. Joyce (Conyers) has gone with us to New York City and Canada and we had a great time. I have also, in partnership with our daughter, opened a children's clothing store, Klassy Kids, in the Galleria in Jackson. One of the great joys of my life is our four grandchildren, Meaghan (5), Amber (3), Thomas (3), and Shelly (2). They all live close enough for frequent visits. I treasure my years at Huntingdon High School. More and more I realize we grew up in a special time and place where children were valued, their innocence protected, children were free to do all the things youngsters do without fear and teachers were truly interested in children and their achievement.
- Velma Brandon (Cooper) (Husband: Claude) I have two daughters, two granddaughters, one grandson and one great granddaughter. My husband and I were married Dec 27, 1952. Most of my adult life I have worked in a factory, twenty-seven years at one and sixteen years at another. In l996 I retired from an Injection Plastic Molding factory. I was a supervisor there for several years. I am still employed but with a lot less hours and my summers off with Gibson County school here in Dyer. My husband Claude is retired. We purchased a cabin on North Eagle Creek and we are expecting to spend some leisure time up there. That is about all I can think of. I have not had an elaborate life, but comfortable and fulfilling.
- Shirley Bridges (Wyatt) - deceased (Husband: Bob) I left school in the 10th grade in October 1950 and married Bob Wyatt on November 11, 1950. We celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary in November 1999. We have three children, Tony, born in 1958, Renee, born in 1962 and Michelle born in 1964. They are all married and live in Huntingdon, Tennessee with their children. We have five grandchildren; four boys and one girl. In 1966 I received my GED at Union University. I worked as a waitress until I was eighteen, then went to work at HIS Outlet in Bruceton, Tennessee. In 1963 I went to work at Publix in Huntingdon and in 1974 became part of management until 1987 when I left to take care of my grandchildren. Bob retired in 1991 from the insurance industry. We have lived in the same house since 1951.
- Wayne Burton (Wife: Charlotte)
After graduation, I served two years in the United States Army. Most of this time I was stationed in Korea. After this period of time, things really began to happen. I went to work at the Milan Arsenal, married Charlotte Kelly, and started college. Five years later, we decided it was time to start our family. Randel, our son, was born in 1961. Shannon, our daughter was born in 1962. They, with their families, live in the Huntingdon area. Randel and Rebecca work at the Milan Arsenal. Shannon and her husband, Christopher Hayner, are teachers. Randel has a seven-year old daughter, Courtney, who is our pride and joy. I retired from the Milan Arsenal five years ago. I have been in the Ministry for twenty years. I now pastor Faith in Christ in Huntingdon. I've been there for fourteen years. It's an undenominational church. Come and visit when you can.
- Ivy Anne Clement I am employed by the US Government, HUD (Housing and Urban Development). No spouse, no children, but I keep in touch with nieces and nephews. Have two older brothers surviving. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, huck toweling, gardening both house plants and outdoor, traveling, redoing my condo, genealogy, reading, communication, and photo collecting are some of my most enjoyable hobbies. I attended the University of Tennessee, Memphis State University, Memphis School of Commerce, Memphis Adult Evening Classed, Tennessee State University, Clark Atlanta University and graduated from the Hud Training Academy. I have a notebook of over 100 training certificates and two degrees. One is C.P.S. (Certified Professional Secretary) and the other is C.O.S. (Certified Occupancy Specialist), a Hud endeavor. Hud trains us well! I worked for Clark and Fay Builders (now two concerns: Clark Builders and Fay Building Materials), E. L. Bruce Co. (largest hardwood manufacturing company in the world now out of business), Secretary to Secretary, Treasurer of corporation, Memphis Title Company (now St Paul Title Co.) with a supervising attorney, Baptist Brotherhood Commission (later part of Home Mission Board in Atlanta), Progresssive Foods (now Keathley's) as a bookkeeper, West Tennessee R. E. I. T. (Real Estate investment Trust) as a bookkeeper, and finally Hud for twenty five years. I now have three certificates which I received from the University of Tennessee. Two certificates are in General Business and the third in Real Estate. I retired. So now I have a 30-year certificate for the United States Government ... for which I am proud to have served. My brother, George, died on January 18, which was my birthday. So now I have one 84-year-old brother, Bob, of Corona, Ca. - only. (Bob graduated from HHS in 1938). Of course, I also have nieces and nephews.
- Joyce Conyers (Shanks) (Husband: Gene) How time flies! Now Gene and I have been married 11 years and, we both have slowed down a bit. I had two surgeries to remove a tumor from my optic nerve. The second one was a success. Gene just had a triple by-pass and is slowly getting his strength back. So we have both been out of pocket for a while. We've missed the last three reunions, which upset us both. Hopefully, next year.. . . . .
Our children are doing fine. Gene's daughter has an addition of a little girl and my son, Scott, and his wife have another daughter. Scott and Hope now live in Bellevue, TN, which is right out of Nashville. He is Production Manager for A.O. Smith Mfg. Co. in Ashland City. Mark, my oldest, is Store Manager for Piggly- Wiggly in Memphis. He has a home in Olive Branch, MS. and is not married ... so let me hear from all of those mothers out there with an available daughter.
I know one thing. I don't like being puny and, hopefully, Gene and I both will feel much better in a few months. Life is good and we have so much to be thankful for.
- Brooksie Dill (Parham) (Husband: Billy) I married in June 1954 to Billy Parham. We have been married for forty-five years and have two daughters. Judy Dunn had two sons and lives in Lebanon, Tennessee. Janet McMackins is married and has two step- children, a boy and a girl, and lives in Huntingdon. I have worked some since I was married but I stayed with my children most of the time when they were growing up. I worked at Public Shirt when I first graduated and a short time for Carroll County Board of Education. After my children left home for college I went to school to become an electrologist. I have had my own business for last sixteen years. Billy is retired and now I work only three days a week. I like this because I meet a lot of nice people and it helps keep me feeling young. We still live in Huntingdon in the same house we have lived in for twenty-eight years. I have Bertie Douglas as a next door neighbor.
- James Dill - deceased (Wife: Kay) I own a swimming pool and supplies business. I am semi-retired. I got my GED in Florida and I am attending college for two years.
- Joan Espey (Bain) (Husband: Weldon - deceased) ... Information needed ...
- Joyce Espey (Cole) (Husband: Robert{Bob}) I worked for the Carroll County Department of Public Welfare as a Stenographer for about five years after graduation. On August 31, 1958 I married Robert Lee (Bob) Cole, a United Methodist Minister. Bob served churches in the Memphis Annual Conference throughout West Tennessee and West Kentucky until June 1998 when he officially "retired" and we purchased a new 2 story house in the beautiful "Plantation Hills" area of Lakeland, just off Canada Road at I-40 Exit 20 near Memphis. We have three children: Catherine Anne age 40, a speech pathology major and Masters Degree, now working on a PHD in Psychology, still single and lives on Oak Road near us. Cynthia Leigh age 37 is married to Don Sharp of Tiptonville, Tennessee. She is a 3rd grade teacher at White Station Elementary School in Memphis. They live in East Memphis. She had our only grandchildren, Jackson Hunter age 9 and Anna Catherine age 6, who are at our home most of the time when not in school. Don is a senior advisor at Fed Ex in Memphis. Robert Lee, II (Chip) is 35, single and a teacher of Chemistry and Biology at Craigmont H.S. in Memphis. He owns a house in Mid-town, but is presently enjoying an upstairs bedroom in our home in Lakeland and "mom's home cooking". I worked part time after the children were older as a district manager and school library specialist with World Book Encylopedia Educational Products. I enjoyed my travels in the US including Hawaii, Acapulco, Mexico and the Bahamas to attend conventions as well as fun trips with Bob on a cruise. I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma from a mole on my right leg in July 1980. After three major surgeries and an isolated limb perfusion at the John S. Stehlin, Jr. Cancer Research Center in Houston, Texas in July1991, I am "cancer free". I was very active in each of the churches we served throughout Bob's years of active ministry. I was trained in youth work in North Carolina to teach lab schools in the southeastern jurisdiction of the UMC. I was a soloist in the church choirs, officer in United Methodist women, officer in conference and district Wesleylan fellowship of minister's spouses. Entertained many groups in the parsonage homes throughout the years including weddings and receptions. I was also active in clubs and organizations in the various communities. Bob and I are currently active in Lakeland community activities. Bob has been appointed, by the Mayor of Lakeland as the official chaplain for the board of commissioners and is a member of the board of parks and recreation.
- Marjorie Evans (Gossett) (Husband: Pete) I attended UT at Martin, Tennessee and while there I met Pete Gossett. We married in 1957, moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where Pete earned a Ph.D. at North Carolina State College. We moved to Waynesville, North Carolina in 1961 for three and one half years. While there our son, John, was born. In 1965 we moved to Knoxville where Pete took a job with the University of Tennessee. Except for two years 1970-72 when we were in Jackson, Tennessee with the UT Agriculture Experiment Station. We have continued to live in Knoxville. Pete retired June 30, 1998 as Vice-President for Agriculture at UT. While in Raleigh, North Carolina I was on the staff of United Way. Since that time I have done substitute teaching in the public school system. In the more recent years I have done community volunteer work and have been involved with UT activities. Our son, John and wife Mimi, married eleven years, live in Newland, North Carolina. He is with Maryland Community College. He is currently working on a Ph.D. program at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. Mimi is with the North Carolina public school system. They have one son, Hunter, (his twin brother died at age three) that is seven years old. He makes the sun shine on our lives every day.

- Nancy Hilliard (Fullerton) (Husband: N/A) Teaching visually handicapped youngsters and adjunct work for local colleges still provide an ample income. The airplanes have been sold. Church work, gardening, restoring my old house and travel occupy my other hours. My son, William Kirby, retired from the Navy in 1994. I went on the dependents cruise on the USS George Washington, our newest nuclear carrier on August 4, 1993. Mother now lives in a lovely hi-rise near St. Thomas Hospital. I am grateful for our shared memories/history from Huntingdon and for the individual histories that have continued to shape our lives. Each day is a new beginning to be anticipated and to be greeted as a challenge.
- Bertie Holmes (Douglas) (Husband: Earnest) After graduation in l953, I went to work in Nashville. There in l956, I met my husband Ernest Douglas from Camden, Tennessee and we were married May l958. Janice is married and has our only grandchild. Ross is four years old and is now the joy in our lives. We have a travel trailer and belong to a camping club, so we really enjoy traveling and look forward to retiring, so we can have more time to travel. Ernest and I are members of First Baptist Church in Huntingdon, where he is a deacon and we both stay busy with all the things we are involved in.
- Billy Bonds Jarrett (Wife: Colette) First of all, let me say that I am honored that you would want to include me as a part of the Huntingdon High School class of 1953. I say this because I was one of you only through the first five grades and a few weeks of the 6th grade.
I was born in Huntingdon and at an early age, my family moved to Jackson. When my dad was drafted into service in World War II, my mother and I moved back to Huntingdon from Jackson and lived with my Mother's Mother, on 3rd Ave. E across the street from the old Church of Christ building. While there, I attended the elementary grades at Huntingdon. After my father was discharged, we moved back to Jackson and I resumed the 6th grade there in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School on schedule in 1953. After college, I was called on by the President of the United States to serve in the United States Army. After completing that assignment, I went to work in Memphis travelling for a company as an internal auditor. Then about two years later, my government called on me again because a crisis had arisen in Berlin. After serving about a year at Ft. Meade, MD, I was discharged and returned to Memphis. On August 25, 1962, Colette and I were married in Memphis. Immediately upon returning from our honeymoon, we were transferred to Kingsport, TN where I continued to work for the company as an internal auditor. After a while in Kingsport, the company moved us to Chattanooga for a couple of years, then to Huntsville, AL for another year and then to Nashville. While in Nashville, I decided to make a change in my career and went to work for a manufacturing company as their cost accountant. After a few years with that company, I accepted a job with an old company that was starting up a new operation in Manchester, TN as their plant accountant. Just before moving to Manchester from Nashville, our daughter Jocelyn was born. She was and continues to be the joy of our lives. We thoroughly enjoyed our life in the small city of Manchester. After some intervening years, I accepted a job with Robertshaw Controls Co. in Lebanon and later Knoxville as the Industrial Accounting Manager for the Tennessee Division. I retired from Robertshaw Controls in August 1998. Along with the normal household duties, I now spend a lot of time playing golf and amateur woodworking. Our daughter is married and she and her husband have one daughter, Makenzie. Of course, we think that Makenzie is the most special granddaughter to have ever occupied space on this the 3rd rock from the sun and she is also a great joy to us. Even though I am many years removed from Huntingdon, there are still many fond memories of living in Huntingdon. The renewing of the old friendships through the Huntingdon High School reunions, has served to rekindle those memories in a most enjoyable way.
- Gary Earl Jarrett (Wife: Linda) I am married to Linda Joyce Jarrett. We have six children. Gary Lynn, Jerry Wayne, David Lee, Melinda Hughes, Steve Hughes and Scott Hughes. We have twelve grandchildren, six girls and six boys. I am retired from the Tennessee National Guard and Linda is still employed by the Milan Army Ammunition Plant.
- Norma Ruth Jordan (Reeves) (Husband: Charles) I didn't get to graduate from Huntingdon High School because we moved to Texas in the fall of 1951. However, I did attend schoool in Huntingdon during the fourth through the tenth grade and I enjoyed it very much. I married in 1952. Charles and I have four children; one son and three daughters. Chuck, lives in Dallas, Tx.; Jan and Vicky live in Lubbock, Tx.; and Darla lives in Temple, Tx. We have eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Husband Charles has retired but works part-time as a Supply Manager for the stadium concession stand during football season and for other sports.
- Marie Kelly (Dunning) (Husband: Ottis) Ottis and I married July 11, 1953 and he is still stuck with me. We have two daughters. Our oldest, Dixie, lives in Dover, Tennessee and works for Farmers & Merchants Bank. She married Jimmy Jobe and he works at Fort Donelson National Park. They have three boys. Two are married and one is a junior at UTM in Martin. One has a little boy so I am a great grandmother and it is great. Our youngest, Daveeda, isn’t married now. She lives in Hughes, Arkansas and works as a receptionist in Memphis, Tennessee. She has no children. I finally retired in April of 98 from IGA after thirty years. Started out as cashier, went to bookkeeper and ended up as bakery manager but I don't miss that at all. I stayed home during the summer and loved it but when fall fell my walls began to get closer so I went to work part time for Peggy's Fashion here in town and love it. Ottis works for Republic Builders for the past twenty -one years and plans to retire in a couple more years. We live at the same place on Blackburn for the past twenty-nine years.
- Damon D. King (Wife: Janet) I went to Chicago to work immediately after graduation from high school to make enough money to enter college that fall. I worked at the same place in Chicago for three summers. I entered the University of Tennessee at Martin in the fall of 1953 and graduated with an Associate Degree in Business in 1955. I entered the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in the fall of 1955 and graduated as a distinguished military graduate, with a BS Degree in Business Administration, with a major in industrial management, in June of 1957. Immediately after graduation from college, I went to work as assistant administrator of the Coahoma County Hospital in Clarksdale, Mississippi. I entered the Army Medical Service Corp as a 2nd Lt. in November of 1957 and served through February 1961. I rose to lst Lt. during my service. I attended Georgia State University in Atlanta in 1959 and 1960, at night, and received a graduate certificate in Hospital Administration in 1960. I married the former Janet Hudson of Atlanta, Georgia, in 1959. We have three children-David, DeAnn and Robin. David and DeAnn are married. Robin is still single. DeAnn and her husband have presented us with two grandchildren, a boy and a girl. I resigned my Army Officer Commission in February 1961 and accepted the position of Chief Executive Officer and Administrator of the Walton County Hospital in Monroe, Georgia on March 1, 1961. I resigned this position in September 1965 to accept the position of Chief Executive Officer and Administrator of the Hall County Hospital in Gainesville, Georgia. I resigned the position in Gainesville to accept a similar position at the Medical Center of Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia, in September 1968. I am now in my twenty fifth year with the Medical Center, a 518 bed regional referral teaching hospital. It is the third largest general acute care hospital in Georgia with almost 3,000 full-time employees and a budget of 300 million dollars a year. I have been very active in Georgia hospital affairs, being one of the youngest people ever elected president of the Georgia Hospital Association. Also, I have been active in community, religious and civic affairs in each of the communities where we have lived. I have served and continue serving on the boards of directors of many civic, business and religious organizations, chairing many. I can truly say the 40 years since graduation from H.H.S have been great. I have a wonderful wife, three beautiful and healthy children, two beautiful grandchildren and a good job. I will be retiring in just over three years.
- Lamon King (Wife: Peggy) I have been married for thirty-seven years to the former Margaret Harp. Our daughter Anitra Ann is thirty-five. For thirty-four years I have been an engineer with Westinghouse Electric. I have published over 30 articles on computer technology.
- Jean Lewis (Kemp) (Husband: Garth) It always bothered me that I had not graduated from Huntingdon High School, so after two of our three children were away attending college, I got my GED. Then I attended college. I graduated at the ripe old age of 45 (in 1981) from Middle Tennessee State University with a BS in social work and a second major in psychology.
- James Garland McCaslin ... Information needed ...
- Sue Mitchell (Bush) (Husband: Billy Ray) It's hard to believe Billy Ray and I celebrated our 46th anniversary, October 4, 1999. We have been retired for almost two years. I retired from the Thomas Bradford Shirt Company in Huntingdon and Billy Ray from the Milan Arsenal. Our two daughters, Debbie and Penny, keep us busy going places. Debbie is the mother of our only grandchild, Abby Rae, who lives nearby and we visit often. Penny lives in Blanchester, Ohio, near Cincinnati. We visit them about twice a year and they come home two times a year. We are thankful we are still well enough to enjoy our retirement. We try to stay healthy by exercising every day and taking our "Pills" on time.

I volunteered for Airborne Training and was sent to Ft Bragg, North Carolina where I went through the first Airborne Class in May 1954. On May 6, 1955 I married Shirley Ann Wiley from Kenton, Tennessee. I remained at Ft Bragg until July 1956 when my enlistment was up and I took my discharge and returned to Kenton, Tennessee. I continued my education and received my High School Diploma from Huntingdon through GED. In September 1956 I re-enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the US Army Recruiting Main Station in Memphis, Tennessee. On April 18, 1957 our son, Jerry Lynn, was born. In January 1958 I had the pleasure of processing Elvis Presley into the Army. I left Memphis in December 1959 and was assigned to Korea. In October 1960 my tour in Korea was curtailed by three months and was brought back for assignment to the Department of Army Staff in the Pentagon. I remained at the Pentagon for a total of twelve years, with assignments to Korea 1965 and Vietnam in 1971. In May 1973 I left the Pentagon and went to Ft Campbell, Kentucky where I stayed over three years. I was promoted to Sgt Major in August 1974. In December 1979 my tour there was curtailed and was assigned to the US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania as the Post Sgt Major. It was there that I had a heart attack in March 1981. I retired from the Army in March 1983, after serving thirty years, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. In November 1983, after being retired a little less than eight months, I went to work for the VA Medical Center here in Nashville as the Administrative Officer for the Chief of Medical Service. On December 20, 1990 I had heart surgery (4 bypasses). I worked there until December 1997 when I retired for the second time. Our Son met and married Lita Poet in 1976 while attending David Lipscomb College. He had a four-year tour in the Air Force. He is now employed at the VA Medical Center here in Nashville as a Senior Systems Analyst. They gave us our only granddaughter, Sarah Lynn, born on November 9, 1989 the day the Berlin wall was torn down. She is our pride and joy. I stay busy doing all those things I never had time to do, such as landscaping our yard, researching genealogy, sharpening my computer skills, investing and keeping up with Wall Street. We bought a house when we first moved here and have remained in it for seventeen years. We are members of Tusculum Church of Christ. Shirley and I traveled so much during our years in the military until we are perfectly happy to stay home and watch everyone else travel.

So in order to save up some money for college and also get my service obligation fulfilled, I joined the Navy. Then after being discharged in 1958, I re-entered college, and graduated from the University of Memphis with a BS degree in mathematics in 1962. Following graduation from the UofM, I taught math for four years at Westwood High School in Memphis then moved to Milan for employment at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant. After a year there, I became employed by Foamex International. There, I worked as an industrial engineer along with being their computer systems administrator and computer programmer. Hilliard and I have been married thirty-nine years and have two wonderful children. The oldest, Charlotte Felicia, is married to Sammy Bush. She has one son, Cliff, who is six years old. Our youngest, Gregory Alan is twenty-seven and works for Suburban Propane. We now live on a small farm in a house we built ourselves and have cows. Hilliard is retired from the Railroad. We now stay at home and work on the farm.
- Helen Turner (Woodson) (Husband: John "Sonny" - deceased) After graduation in 1953, I went to work in Bruceton, Tennessee. There, I met my husband John, a young sailor from Bruceton. We married in August of 1953. We began a military journey that carried us from coast to coast. Our son, John Michael, was born in Bremerton, Washington in 1956. He lives in Memphis, Tennessee with his wife Lori. Mark, was born in 1959 in Tampa, Florida. He, his wife Michelle and our only grandchild Le Ann (19), live in Cordova, Tennessee. John retired from the Air Force and we moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1969. He began a career in law enforcement with the Shelby County Sheriff Department. He retired in 1997. In August 1999 we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary. My parents reside in Camden, Tennessee, therefore, I spend lots of time in Benton and Carroll County. On October 2, 1999, I received some bad news, "MY MEDICARE CARD". Oh well, can the rest of the class be far behind?
- Harvey Leon Turner (Wife: Shirley) CW4, US Army retired. Presently I am the project engineer, maintaining Shirley's house and lawn and continue to farm as a hobby. I am retired from the Army after a very rewarding career of twenty-seven years. Shirley has taken a leave from nursing, due to health. She is now a professional "Grandma" caring for Cindy's son and daughter. We spend weekends together and enjoy many other special occasions with friends and family. Our daughter, Cindy Dedmon, MD, lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where she has her medical practice. She is a single parent. Steve and wife Rae have two sons and reside in Shelbyville, Kentucky. He is the plant production supervisor for the Louisville Power Plant. Matt and wife, Paula, live in Bartlett, Tennessee. They have two daughters and one son. Matt is the plant supervisor for one of the Cargill corn processing plants in Memphis. They are presently considering an assignment in Belgium.
- Harlon Wilcox (Wife: Bennie Lou) I married Bennie Lou Merritt from Huntingdon. I am retired from Memphis Transit. Bennie Lou is retired from the Shelby County Welfare Department.
- Landis Ray Wilkes (Wife: Dorothy) ... Information needed ...
- Leon (Chick) Wilkes ... Information needed ...
- Larry Williams (Wife: Jane) I married Jane Jones of Erwin, Tennessee, on June 17, 1962. We have two sons, no daughters-in-law. After high school graduation I worked in Chicago, Illinois for three years. I served in the 82nd Airborne Division, as did three other members of our class. After my tour in the US Army I attended college and later worked in Memphis, Tennessee. I graduated from Bethel College, majoring in accounting and minor economics. I was employed at RJR Archer, later becoming Norandal, in Huntingdon from April 1967 and retired on January 1, 1998. Jane is a Registered Nurse but works in administration at Baptist Hospital in Huntingdon. She plans to retire in the near future. My hobbies include photography and restoring antique cars and trucks. I have about ten cars that I show in local shows. I am deeply involved in "retirement enjoyment" and do not like to hear the word "work" unless it refers to someone else.
- Peggy Woodard (Brandon) (Husband: Douglas - deceased) I was married 46 years and I have four children and seven grandchildren. I retired from the Huntingdon Police Department in 1997, with 20 years service.
- Charles Wooters (Wife: Dorris) I married Dorris Allison in 1953. We have two children and four grandchildren. I served in the US Navy from 1958 through 1977. I worked in New York City, New York from 1977 to 1980. I also worked in the Forestry Service in the State of Tennessee from 1983 through 1995. I enjoy the class reunions each year.
- Glenn Wooters (Wife: Joanne) I married Joanne Brockman on June 21, 1958. We have two children, a son, David Brent, and a daughter, Alisa. David and his wife Pat have two of our grandchildren and live here nearby in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Alisa and her husband Roger Leonard have the other four of our wonderful grandchildren. She lives in Valdosta, Georgia. Joanne and I are graduates of Berea College in Berea, Kentucky where we met as classmates and members of the same church. We graduated in 1958. Joanne's degree was in Home Economics. She was a home-demonstration agent for two years, taught high school, elementary school and middle school for twenty-eight years before retiring in 1992. She loves to work in flowers and has a big part of our yard planted. She also plays golf with others and me. After graduating from Berea College with a degree in Social Studies, I received my Masters Degree and Rank 1 in education from the University of Louisville. I taught for five and one half years, traveled as a book salesman for two and one half years, and finished up my school work in administration as a Director of Pupil Personnel. I retired in 1988. In 1989 I started a company called Alpha Laser of Kentucky where I recycled laser printer cartridges, copier cartridges, and repaired the printers and copiers. I turned this successful business over to my son in the spring of 1987 and he is still operating the business. In addition to this work, I have served as a part-time minister for four different Churches of Christ in the central Kentucky area. I am currently not preaching on a regular basis but do some fill-in work when needed. I do serve as one of the elders in the local Church of Christ. For recreation, I enjoy golf, fishing and traveling. When younger, I hunted whenever I could. Since retiring for a second time, I hope to do one or more mission trips each year. In February of 1999, I went to Panama and spent a week doing plumbing and electrical work at the School of Americas, which is a school to train native men to preach in Central America. I also taught a class to the men present each evening. Joanne and I were also able to spend our first winter in sunny Florida from the first of January to the end of March in 1999. We plan on this being an annual event, as we co-own a two-bedroom house in Englewood, Florida. I think we must have had one of the greatest classes to graduate from Huntingdon as no other class that I know of has stayed in contact with its members like we have.
